Apple Rum Dum

Makes 8 servings

Prep Time: 20 min.
Baking Time: 40 min.


Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoons nutmeg
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 medium cooking apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Caramel Cinnamon Syrup (if desired)

Cooking Directions:
Preheat oven to 350-degrees F. (Using a glass or nonstick pan, preheat oven to 325-degrees F.) Butter a 8x8-inch baking pan.
1) In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar together.
2) Add egg and beat well.
3) Add baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmet. Beat well.
4) Stir in flour.
5) Add apples and nuts and sir gently until blended. Spoon into pan.
6) Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until light brown and knife inserted in the middle come out clean.
7) Serve with Caramel Cinnamon Syrup.
